On the day

Dunes to sunset, home for dinner.

Times below are a summer day. Pickup moves with the sunset, earlier in winter. Your driver confirms the exact time the night before.

  1. Hotel pickup

    Your driver meets you in the lobby with a Land Cruiser or Patrol, cold water and a quick brief.

  2. Arrive at Lehbab

    About 45 minutes out of the city. Tyres down for the sand.

  3. Dune bashing

    45–60 minutes, unhurried. No camp to rush to, so your driver can take the steeper lines.

  4. Sandboarding

    Boards out on a smooth high dune. Most guests do 4–6 runs.

  5. Camel ride

    5–10 minutes with the sun dropping behind you.

  6. Sunset + Arabic coffee

    30 minutes on the sunset dune with coffee and fresh dates as the sky turns.

  7. Free time

    The quietest moment of the day. Add a quad, buggy or falcon photo if you want, paid at the dunes.

  8. Back at your hotel

    Pay your driver, cash or card. Time to shower before dinner.

What to wear
  • Light, comfortable clothes. Cotton works best.
  • Closed shoes; the sand gets everywhere.
  • Sunglasses for the dune drive.
  • A layer for after sunset from November to March.
  • Skip a heavy meal before the dune drive.

  • Phone or camera.
  • Sunscreen and a hat.
  • Cash or card for any add-ons and the payment on the day.

Who it’s for

Couples, friends and families. Dune bashing is fine for most kids from about 5; for younger ones the driver keeps it gentle. It isn’t recommended if you’re pregnant or have back or neck problems. Tell your driver and he’ll go easy, or skip it.

Payment and cancellation

Nothing to pay when you book. Pay your driver after the tour, cash or card (card +5%). Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.

How is this different from the full evening safari?

The full evening safari is 6–7 hours with the camp, BBQ dinner and live shows, back around 9:45 PM. Evening Short is 4 hours in the dunes: dune bashing, sandboarding, sunset photos, a camel ride and Arabic coffee, with no camp. You’re back by 7:30 PM.

Isn’t the full evening safari cheaper?

For 1–5 guests, usually yes: Standard is AED 99 per person in a shared car. With 6 guests Evening Short works out to AED 92 each, fully private. Most people pick it for the timing and the private car.

Can I make an 8 PM dinner?

Yes, that’s the point. Drop-off is around 7:30 PM. If your booking is earlier, tell us and we’ll start 30 minutes earlier.

Is the car price really the total?

Yes. AED 549 covers the whole car, up to 6 guests: pickup, drop-off, dune bashing, sandboarding, the photo stop, camel ride, Arabic coffee, dates and water. No service charge, no VAT on top, no fuel surcharge. Quad, buggy and falcon photos are optional and paid to the operator at the dunes. We don’t mark them up.

Is it really private?

Yes. Your car, your driver, just your group. There’s no camp on the short tours and we never combine bookings, so you don’t share with anyone you didn’t bring.

Do kids pay?

Kids under 3 ride free on a lap and don’t count toward the 6 seats. Everyone 3 and older takes a seat, but the price stays AED 549 for the car whether it’s adults or kids. It’s often easier than the full evening for young kids, since you’re home by 7:30 PM.

How late can I book?

Same-day usually works if you message us by 12 PM for an afternoon pickup.

What if there’s a sandstorm or rain?

It’s rare, a few days a year. If it isn’t safe, your driver calls it by 1 PM and we reschedule for free, or cancel at no cost if you can’t move the date.
