Self-drive means you bring your own 4×4 to our pre-arranged meeting point at the Lehbab dunes. Exact GPS pin sent via WhatsApp the night before. VIP tier meets at 3:00 PM for the extended dune route.
~45 minutes drive from central Dubai via Hatta Road / E44. We'll send you the exact GPS pin and turn-by-turn directions on WhatsApp the night before your safari.
Standard meeting time for VIP is 3:00 PM for the extended dune route. Arriving 10-15 min early is recommended for waiver signing and tire-pressure check without rushing.
Free parking at the meeting point. Your 4×4 stays there during the camp evening, then you drive yourself home around 9 PM.

What's the difference between Self-Drive VIP and the chauffeured Evening VIP?
They're different products, not the same package with different transport. Evening VIP (AED 299) is our top luxury tier — private chair seating, exclusive premium menu, Arabic dress for photos, double live shows, full chauffeured experience. Self-Drive VIP (AED 75) is the top tier of our self-drive lineup — adds falcon photo and shisha lounge access on top of the Self-Drive Premium experience. Self-drive guests share the main camp environment, not a private setup. Self-Drive VIP is positioned to be the best of self-drive, not equivalent to Evening VIP.
What does Self-Drive VIP add over Self-Drive Premium?
Two upgrades for AED 15 more: (1) falcon photo session — a trained UAE falcon perches on your gloved arm for photos, classic Arabian shot with our licensed falconer; (2) shisha lounge access — unlimited shisha for the evening, traditional and premium flavours, no per-refill charge. Same extended dune route, same premium BBQ, same priority camp seating as Premium.
Do I need my own 4×4 for Self-Drive VIP?
Is the falcon photo authentic?
Yes — we work with a licensed falconer who handles trained UAE peregrine and saker falcons. They're hooded between sessions for the bird's welfare. You wear a thick leather glove, the falconer places the falcon on your arm, and you get 2-3 minutes for photos. The falcons are part of working programs that protect wild populations — your visit supports their care.

What licence do I need to drive in the Dubai desert?
UAE residents: a valid UAE driving licence. Tourists: an International Driving Permit (IDP) plus your home country licence, or a licence from a country UAE recognises for direct conversion. Bring physical copies to the meeting point — we verify before the convoy moves off. Minimum age: 21.

Depends what you want. Self-Drive VIP (AED 75) is for guests who want to drive themselves and add the headline VIP touches — falcon photo and shisha — without the full luxury package. Evening VIP (AED 299) is for guests who want the full luxury treatment — chauffeured pickup, exclusive private chair seating, Arabic dress for photos, welcome snacks, luxury upgraded dining, and double live shows. Different products. Self-drive saves you AED 224 but you give up the chauffeured pickup, private setup, and several VIP-only features.
